Barony of Bhakail - East Kingdom

The Barony of Bhakail is the branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism serving the greater Philadelphia area. In the SCA, we are the southernmost barony in the East Kingdom.

The SCA is an international organization dedicated to research and education about pre-1600's Europe and the countries that had contact with it. We learn about the Middle Ages by living it – making and wearing medieval clothes, cooking and eating medieval food, learning to fight with swords, shields and armor, and lots more! We encourage you to come find out more about what we do: new friends are always welcome!

by July 1.

Please ensure that your Pennsic registration indicates "Barony Bhakail" as your camp. Pre-registration for Pennsic ends on June 15, 2008 (online only.) See www.pennsicwar.org to pre-reg.

The camp fee this year is $30 per person,
and $10 for children under 13.

MESSAGE FROM THE KNIGHT MARSHAL

We will be continuing fighter practice
every Thursday evening at 7:30 PM
throughout the summer, including August,
at the Hawthorne Cultural Center at
1200 Carpenter Street.

If anything changes, I will contact the fighters
directly through my e-mail list. If you are not on that list and would like to be,

include you on it.

Garb Workshop
Second and Fourth Wednesdays, 6:15 pm

Lady Alesia hosts a garb workshop on alternate Wednesdays starting at 6:15 pm, concurrent with Thrown Weapons practice. You can bring fabric to make garb, or if you're not sure what you want, come and we'll throw around some ideas. Lady Alesia also has a few books for people to look at.
