Events
Champions and Commons
The event will be Sunday, September 14, at Pavilion 17 at Ridley Creek State Park.
- Plans are moving forward. We still need a few positions filled.
- This year we will be setting up an A&S area where artisans can display their crafts and can talk to newcomers about why their craft is the best in the SCA
- We could use some pop ups on site for a variety of purposes (like keeping artisans dry in case some weather happens).
- If you are willing to help out, contact the Baron.
Baronial archery and thrown weapons championships
The date for this has been moved to September 7. It will be held at the site where practices are held.
Bhakail Yule
A bid has been submitted by Event Steward Gráinne inghean Uí Néill and approved by the Council of the Exchequer. A vote was held and the event bid was approved by the barony.
Tavern 2026
A bid is still sought.
Old Business
Officer Position, Chatelaine
Chana’s term as Chatelaine ends in October and the position will be open at that time. Letters of intent are sought from individuals interested in the position.
New Business
Changes to the Bhakail Bank Signatories
With the recent changes in officers, the signatories on the Bhakail bank account at TD Bank need to be updated. Request is to add as signers Ellyn Grene (Exchequer), Margarette la Gantière (Seneschal), Mikael melrakki (Baron), and Arlyana van Wyck (Kingdom Exchequer). Philadelphia Brown and Ysmay de Lynn will remain as signers, and several previous baronial and kingdom officers will be removed. A vote was held and the requested changes were approved.
Deputy Seneschal
Margarette announced a request for a deputy seneschal. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Margarette at seneschal@bhakail.eastkingdom.org
Seneschal Office Hours
Margarette will be holding office hours on the last Thursday of each month, from approximately 7-9pm. If you have anything at all you would like to discuss with the Seneschal, please come.
Communications in the Barony
Discussion was held about how to hear from the populace on how they best want to have communication and engagement with the barony.
PAX Unplugged, Purchase of Foam Swords
Last year there were fencing demonstrations, which the attendees very much enjoyed. However, metal weapons are not allowed in the site. Chana has requested the purchase of at least two high-quality foam swords, which will have a cost of approximately $200. Gisela offered some additional equipment suggestions from youth rapier. The barony is in support of the idea, and Chana will be providing details to the Council of the Exchequer for their approval.

Social Media – Scolastica Capellaria
We are operating a Facebook Account, Discord server and Instagram and there are no current issues. All accounts have gained followers in the last couple months thanks to exposure from Pennsic.
