Hello, The Barony, Friends and Allies!
This last month We have had the double pleasure of seeing Friends and Colleagues be awarded by the Crown at the Ethereal Court, and another Ethereal Court is RIGHT around the corner. We are left wondering what wonders we will see!
There was also a second Bhakail: Behind the Ramparts Ethereal Event held, with many good gentles joining in.
We look forward to a possible third such event this next month.
While I won’t belabor the points concerning safety in this time of plague, I feel those more fully fall under the Auspices of our amazing Seneschal; I would, however, ask of all those hearing and reading these words going forward – Please be safe. Be reasonable. Be cautious. And continue to wash your hands.

The Kingdom is starting to reopen! We can start to gather in small groups again. We can start to plan events again. Let us all continue to practice social distancing and remain safe so we can get back to attending events and practices again.

Knight Marshal’s Report – Lord Egill Illugasson
Hello. Practice continues to be on hold for the time being. There was unfortunately some vagueness involving the Earl Marshal’s announcement regarding practices. I reached out for clarification and as of right now, only non-contact activities – i.e. thrown weaponry, archery, etc. – are allowed to resume. However, as our state begins to loosen quarantine restrictions I will be reaching out again to the gentleman we rent practice space from to make plans for our eventual return to weekly practice. Continue following the Philadelphia fight practice page for updates.

Minister of the Lists’ Report – Mistress Judith the Confused
Greetings Good Gentles,
As we move closer to overcoming this plague that has struck the land, let us hope that we are ready to do battle with our Friends and Enemies. We hope that you are strong of heart, strong of mind, and strong in action. To make sure you are ready to meet the new challenges ahead, we hope you are well-rested and ready to take up arms again. Your MOLs are ready and able to stand by your side (okay sitting and six feet away). If you have need of any paperwork for reauthorizations or new authorizations, please feel free to contact us at 133292@members.sca.org. If you are interested in learning how to MOL, also reach out as well.
We hope to see you all again at Bhakail’s Champions and Commons at the end of August if the scourge has left the nearby countryside by that time. In the meantime, stay well, safe, and strong.

Nothing to report from the Chatelaine. I’ve gotten a couple emails from people interested in joining us, but haven’t heard back from them after my initial replies.
Minister of Arts & Sciences’ Report – Lady Maryna Borowska
My apologies for missing the meeting. I submitted my biannual report. The Kingdom MOAS has continued to offer A&S classes, check their website for details!
Chancellor Minor’s Report – Lady Honorable Lady Roseia Poseia
Nothing going on since everything has been canceled or postponed. I am still accepting empty toilet paper tubes and plastic caps, milk jug sized, for craft activities once things get back going again.

New Business
- Archery practices – Maryna- Hoping to begin soon, awaiting instructions from the Captain-General and Southern Region Commander.
- Brewing Championship – Our Baronial Brewing Champion has provided the format for this year’s brewing championship, to be held at Yule. Here are his words:
Attention Brewers of Bhakail!
The Barony calls on you this Yule to produce medicines most delicious for the brewing competition. Mead, wine, or even beer that has medicinal properties. Judging to be on taste and having a medicinal ingredient. At bare minimum, entrants must include an ingredients list and a description of what benefit their “medicine” can provide. Additional points will be awarded for historical documentation.

- Shire Wars – Alesia has spoken with the autocrat, Lord Eleazar ha-Levi of the Shire of Blak Rose, and as of the end of May the event is still on. All of the 8 groups that were asked to offer financial assistance with the event have agreed to do so.
