Coronet’s Report – Baron Muin maqq Minain

Hello, Peoples of Bhakail, Our Allies, and Friends;

Please be advised that while we are coming out of the pandemic, slow though that may be, we are still in a pandemic. Getting everybody vaccinated is going to take time, and I ask that people be patient with the process. I myself have had to temper my expectations greatly over the last few months, and I don’t expect anyone else is having that much of an easier time then am I, so please be patient.

With those in the medical field, your family, and your friends here in the SCA.

We recently had Our tavern event, and it came off as a great success with many friends family and allies being recognised by the Barony for their deeds and efforts; not just over the last year but over the last several years here in the East Kingdom. May We all be lucky enough to be Bhakailis, that the world would be a better place.

Looking to the future, We have need of people to run Our Commons event this coming Fall, whether that be in person or ethereal, and we will need people to run our annual Yule event as well.

I would also like to put people in mind of the idea of holding, once we can all meet person again, a new event in Bhakail concentrating on arts and sciences, cooking, feasting and dancing, and a rapier tournament… possibly a camping event if we can arrange it. Keep this in mind, and bring any ideas you have to Myself or to Lady Alesia, Our Seneschal.

With thanks aplenty;

  – Muin
Baron of Bhakail

Seneschal’s Report – Honorable Lady Alesia de Maris of Ravenstar

It’s February, the shortest month, but it always feels like the longest. Spring will soon be here and with it we may be able to start having outdoor practices again. Spring brings hope. Here’s to hoping the pandemic runs its course and we can begin to gather together again soon.

Minister of the Lists’ Report – The Honorable Lord Mikael melrakki

On 2/7/21, the below was published by the EK MoL:

Over the past month or so, The Ministry of Lists has been looking into regulations and requirements with regard to fighting authorizations. After speaking with the VP for Corporate Operations, Society Marshal, and the Kingdom Seneschal, we have come to an agreement for handling this, as follows:

All authorizations expiring between March 1, 2020 and June 6, 2021 will have their expiration dates extended to June 7, 2021. This gives authorized fighters 1 year from the date martial activities were able to hold official practices in the EK to work on their renewal paperwork.

While we know this is not a perfect solution, we feel it is the best compromise for the East Kingdom. As a matter of perspective, please be aware, some other Kingdoms are requiring ALL fighters to reauthorize.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Olivia Baker, East Kingdom Minister of Lists, at mol@eastkingdom.org.
