Seneschal’s Report – Honorable Lady Alesia de Maris of Ravenstar
Greetings!
Due to a new rise in Covid, the Kingdom has put all in person events, workshops and practices on hold until January 17th. As soon as more information becomes available it will be put on the Bhakail list and put on the Facebook page.
Tavern is still on for January 29th but the date may be moved back to March. (Please see the Tavern report above.)
We are seeing a rise in Covid among our members. Please continue to follow all recommendations and stay safe.

Heraldic Submissions:
From the Eastern Internal Letter of Intent (ILoI) – This letter includes all new names and devices that have been submitted to the Eastern College of Heralds in the last month. It takes about two months for items to reach the next stage, the Eastern Letter of Decision.
January 2022: Muin maqq Minain has resubmitted a new badge, (Fieldless) On a hand sable an annulet Or.
From the Eastern Letter of Decision (LoD) – This letter reports what items will be forwarded to Laurel to be decided on and what will be returned to the submitter for more work. It takes about six more months for submissions to reach the next stage, the Laurel Letter of Acceptances and Returns.
January 2022: No letter has yet been posted.
December 2021: I did not immediately recognize any of the items on this letter as belonging to members of the Barony.
From the Laurel Letter of Acceptances and Returns (LoAR) – This letter says what items have been accepted by SCA’s College of Arms and what has been returned to the submitter unregistered.
November 2021: – No items for the Eastern Kingdom appeared in this month’s letter.

New business
- Pennsic – All indications are that Pennsic will happen this year. Pennsic reservations have opened. If you are interested in camping with Bhakail please contact Lady Chana, the Camp Master. Be on the lookout for messages from the Camp Master.
- Baronial 50th Anniversary – The 50th anniversary of Bhakail becoming a Barony is in the Fall of 2024. As part of our planning we are looking for stories and photos. These items will be put on the Bhakail website. If you have something you want to contribute, please contact Alesia for now.
- Yule Leftovers – In order to use up the left-over onions from Yule, Mael Eoin is thinking about making bread and onion soup with beer as a fund raiser. More information to come.
- Ethereal Socials – The weekly ethereal socials continue to happen on Tuesday’s. Anyone can attend, go to the Bhakail calendar and click on Bhakail Social. Reminder notices will be put on Facebook and the Bhakail list.
Old business
- Tavern – We still have 15 open spaces. Had a discussion regarding going forward with the event. There is concern about moving forward with the current date and the possibility the Kingdom could extend the ban on in-person events, workshops and practices. The decision was made to contact the German Society and see if it is possible to move our reservation to March 12th. Mistress Philadelphia will contact the site tomorrow.
- New Exchequer Sought– The Exchequer is looking for a successor. Her term is up in June 2022.
- New Chronicler Sought – Chronicler is stepping down in February 2022 and she is looking for a successor.
- Possible Spring camping event – Alesia has started looking for campgrounds.
- Event Sites Committee – This has been put on hold for now.
